Münger, Anselmetti

Technical Basics
Ruedi Münger and Flavio Anselmetti, two geologists, explain how they imagine the Flims rockslide would have occurred and where they would have liked to have been standing to witness it 10,000 years ago: one of them would have been looking down from the edge of the Pinut valley, the other would have been standing on the opposite slope in Domleschg and looking uphill. Each interview listening post is installed at the two furthest corners of the exhibition area.

Artistic Concept
As part of the research project Präparat Bergsturz at the Berne University of the Arts, the artists Schirin Kretschmann, Markus Schwander, Florian Dombois and the sociologist Priska Gisler examined the phenomenon of the landslide and its representability using the example of Flims. Various artistic works were created, which were shown together with others in the thematic exhibition Präparat Bergsturz - Konservierte Bewegung (Landslide preparation - Preserved movement, curator Katharina Ammann) at the Kunstmuseum Chur in 2012.
The Flims landslide is barely recognizable on the ground. Münger, Anselmetti let the geologists themselves have their say, whose description cannot hide the tone of scientific enthusiasm.
